Why Choose West Georgia Wellness Center for Drug Rehab in Georgia

Joint Commission accreditation. We are accredited by The Joint Commission — the gold standard in healthcare accreditation, held by fewer than 20 percent of behavioral health organizations nationwide. Our Joint Commission accreditation reflects clinical quality standards your insurance company and treatment professionals trust.

Dual diagnosis integrated treatment. More than 50 percent of people seeking addiction treatment have a co-occurring mental health condition — depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, or personality disorder — that has never been adequately treated. Our integrated dual diagnosis program treats addiction and mental health conditions simultaneously under one coordinated clinical plan. This is the standard of care, and it produces better outcomes than treating either condition alone.

Board-certified psychiatry on-site. Our clinical team includes board-certified psychiatrists who conduct comprehensive evaluations, manage psychiatric medications, and provide psychiatric services throughout the residential stay. Having psychiatry on-site — rather than contracted out — allows real-time clinical responsiveness that is essential for complex presentations.

Medical detox on-site. We provide 24-hour medically supervised detox for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances before transitioning clients directly into our residential treatment program. You do not need to complete detox elsewhere before coming to us. See our medical detox program.

Transportation assistance. Transportation has never been a barrier to treatment at West Georgia Wellness Center. We have transported clients from throughout Georgia and from Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and other neighboring states. If transportation is a concern, call us — we will work it out.

Levels of Care at West Georgia Wellness Center

We provide two connected levels of care under one roof:

Medical Detox: The first clinical phase for clients who need medical management of withdrawal. We provide 24-hour medically supervised detox for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Following detox, clients transition directly into residential treatment without leaving our facility.

Residential Treatment: 30- to 90-day structured residential programming following detox. Clients live on-site and receive a full day of evidence-based programming — individual therapy, group therapy, psychoeducation, skills groups, psychiatric medication management, and holistic programming. See our residential substance abuse treatment program for full details.

How Long Does Drug Rehab in Georgia Last?

Treatment length is individualized based on clinical need, not administrative convenience. Research by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) consistently shows that treatment duration is one of the most significant predictors of long-term outcome — clients who remain in treatment longer have substantially better long-term sobriety rates than those who leave early.

At West Georgia Wellness Center, most residential stays fall between 30 and 90 days following detox. We offer 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day program structures, with extensions available when clinically indicated. Discharge planning begins early to ensure a smooth transition back to the community with appropriate continuing care.

Georgia Drug Statistics: Why This Matters

Georgia, like most states, has been significantly affected by the opioid epidemic and the broader drug crisis. Key data points that underscore why accessible, high-quality drug rehab in Georgia matters:

  • Georgia’s drug overdose deaths have increased dramatically over the past decade, with fentanyl-involved deaths driving the increase
  • In 2020, there were 348 substance use treatment facilities in Georgia — a number that sounds large but represents significant gaps relative to need
  • Most people who need substance use treatment in Georgia do not receive it — only approximately 1 in 5 people with substance use disorder nationally receive treatment in any given year
  • Co-occurring mental health conditions are present in more than 50 percent of people with substance use disorders in Georgia, yet only a fraction receive integrated dual diagnosis care

Frequently Asked Questions — Drug Rehab in Georgia

How do I find the right drug rehab in Georgia?

Evaluate level of care needed (detox? residential?), dual diagnosis capability, insurance coverage, Joint Commission accreditation, and evidence-based treatment approach. Call West Georgia Wellness Center at 470-625-2466 — our admissions team will honestly help you evaluate whether our program is the right fit for your specific situation.

Does insurance cover drug rehab in Georgia?

Yes. Federal parity law requires most plans to cover substance use disorder treatment. We accept most major commercial plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, and Tricare. Verification is free. Call 470-625-2466.

What is the difference between inpatient and residential drug rehab?

Inpatient technically means hospital-level acute medical care. Residential means a structured live-in treatment program. Most drug rehab programs outside of emergency settings are residential. West Georgia Wellness Center is a residential facility with on-site medical detox.

How long does drug rehab last in Georgia?

Detox: 5 to 10 days. Residential treatment: 30 to 90 days depending on severity and insurance coverage. NIDA recommends a minimum of 90 days for the most severe addictions. Longer treatment duration consistently predicts better long-term outcomes.
